Apple and Cheddar Bagel
APPLE AND CHEDDAR BAGEL
4 servings • Preparation: 12 min. • Cooking: 2 min.
  • 4 Dempster’s® WholeGrains™ 100% Whole Wheat bagels
  • 8 slices part-skim cheddar cheese
  • 2 apples, unpeeled, cored and thinly sliced (your choice)
  • 2 mL (½ tsp) cinnamon
Slice bagels in half and toast.
Place cheese on half of each bagel.
Top with apple and a pinch of cinnamon.
Close sandwiches with remaining half bagels and serve or pack in a lunch.

FOR A CHANGE
Replace apples with pears and replace cheddar with part-skim provolone or Swiss cheese.

NUTRITION TIP
Adding 60 mL (¼ cup) of dry-roasted unsalted walnuts adds good omega-3 fat, iron, nearly 2 g of fibre and crunch!
